8 Practical Steps to Become More Like Christ & Less Like Me

  1. Praying daily for spiritual understanding results in the death of self-reliance.
  2. Orienting your entire life toward the Truth of the gospel results in the death of self-indulgence.
  3. Allowing the Truth of the gospel to indict and correct your heart results in the death of self-exaltation.
  4. Permanently seal-up portals or “avenues of temptation” where sin can enter into your life results in the death of self-deception.  Some of the portals examined are:
    1. Friendships
    2. Defiling environments & media
    3. Idleness:  Living a life of slack
    4. Leisure and Fun 
    5. Fear of Man  
    6. Idolizing Family - You must love Christ more than your family.
    7. Intellectual Pride Held Over Scripture
    8. Unchecked Resentment Against God & Others       
  5. Getting lost in the needs of others results in the death of self-interest.
  6. Cultivating thankfulness in hearts and lives results in the death of self-preservation.
