Ministries / Music and Worship

The music and worship ministry at Grace Immanuel serves and leads the congregation each week in corporate worship. For more information about the ministry opportunities available, see below.

The rhythm band is the core of the music ministry at Grace Immanuel. Band and vocalists lead worship weekly in both morning and evening services as part of a rotation. All players and singers must have an exemplary testimony of purity and humility as leaders on the platform, as well as demonstrating a high degree of musical proficiency. Instrumentalists must be able to read chord charts and lead sheets. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 8-9:15 PM.

The orchestra is open to all regular attenders who profess Christ and live in accordance with their profession. The orchestra ministers in the morning service once a month, as well as playing for special events. Players must demonstrate proficiency on an orchestral instrument. Nursery is available as part of our regular schedule. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 6:30-8 PM.

The adult choir is open to all regular attenders who profess Christ and live in accordance with their profession. The choir ministers weekly in the morning worship services and is involved in other special worship services and events throughout the year, as well as presenting a full-scale concert series for Christmas.  Members commit on a semester basis. An informal interview is required. Rehearsals are on Thursdays, 6:30-8 PM.

The Grace Chorale is an auditioned group of singers who also serve in other aspects of the music ministry. Members must demonstrate a high level of musicianship, the ability to read music, and proficiency in independent part-singing. The Chorale leads morning worship once a month and sings in special events. Rehearsals are Thursdays, 8-9:15 PM.

The AV ministry serves a vital role in sending and producing sound and video for weekly services, as well as special events and other needs throughout the church. Team members must demonstrate faithfulness, godly conduct, and a willingness to be taught, as well as a familiarity with technology.

The handbell choir ministers in morning and evening worship services as scheduled and is involved in other special worship services and events throughout the year. Experienced new ringers are always welcomed as vacancies in the group occur. Introductory classes are periodically available for those who are interested in ringing, but who have had little to no experience. For more information, contact Brad Weishaupt through the church office.

The graded children's choir program is open to students in 1st-10th grade whose parents are regular attenders of Grace Immanuel. There are three ensembles: Junior Choir (1st-3rd grade), Intermediate Choir (4th-6th grade), and Youth Choir (7th-10th grade). Students learn doctrine through hymns, music literacy, and principles of good singing. They also minister periodically in the morning and evening services and participate in the Christmas Concert. Registration is required. Rehearsals are Sunday evenings, 6:30-7:30 PM (during the evening service). For more information, contact Melanie Lynch through the church office.
